Account & Data Deletion

You do not need the app installed, or any software, to delete your account. Choose whichever option below applies to you.

One Vincdata account signs you in to VincChat (web and Android), VincBuddy and Vincoder. You can permanently delete it, and the personal data we hold with it, at any time. This page says how, and exactly what is removed and what is kept.

On the website (Dashboard → Delete account)

  1. Sign in and open your Dashboard.
  2. Scroll to Delete account at the bottom of the Account column and open it.
  3. Confirm it is you by re-entering your password (it is checked again by our server when the deletion runs).
  4. Type DELETE and press Delete my account permanently.

Everything listed below is deleted immediately, you are signed out, and a short confirmation email is sent. This works for VincBuddy and Vincoder accounts too: VincBuddy's Settings → Account deletion link brings you to this page, and the same Dashboard control does the deletion.

In the VincChat Android app

  1. Open VincChat and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete Account in the Account section and confirm.

Everything listed below is deleted immediately and you are signed out. This cannot be undone.

By email (if you cannot sign in)

Email privacy@vincdata.ca from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We confirm that the address is yours, run the same deletion described below, and complete it within 30 days.

Vincoder subscribers

An active, trialing or past-due Vincoder subscription is cancelled immediately with Paddle, our payment provider, as the first step of the deletion, so you are not billed again. If Paddle does not accept the cancellation, nothing is deleted and you are told. Cancelling does not by itself refund the period already paid; refunds, including the money-back guarantee and refunds when you cancel because of a material change, follow the Refund Policy. If you want a refund, ask for it before you delete your account.

What gets deleted

In this order, in one operation:

  • Vincoder: your subscription, if it is still billing, is cancelled immediately with Paddle; then our subscription record (plan, status, trial dates) is deleted. Paddle keeps its own billing records, see below.
  • VincChat: your conversations and messages live on our AI server, which clears them next. Photos you attached are not stored there, only a note that one was analysed. If it cannot confirm that, the deletion stops there and you are told, so "deleted" is never said over data that is still there.
  • VincBuddy: every heartbeat record the app sent (the six-field check-ins described in the Privacy Policy).
  • Marketing consent: any record that you agreed to receive marketing email.
  • Your account: the sign-in record, your profile (name, email) and the record of when you accepted the Terms. A confirmation is then emailed to that address.

Data that lives only on your own devices is not touched by this, because we cannot reach it: VincBuddy's folder on your PC (%LOCALAPPDATA%\VincBuddy), Vincoder's data folder, and what the VincChat app kept on your phone (uninstalling removes it; turn off biometric login first so its stored token is cleared).

What is kept

  • Billing records at Paddle. Paddle.com Market Ltd is the merchant of record for Vincoder: it holds the transaction, invoice and tax records for a purchase and keeps them for the time tax and fraud rules require, under its own privacy policy. We cannot delete those.
  • Our Paddle event log. We keep the record of payment events we received (event id, type, time) for accounting; your account identifier is removed from those rows when the account is deleted, so they no longer point to you.
  • VincChat Android error reports. Crash and error reports the Android app sent to our own server (message, technical trace, app version, account id) are kept as a log for up to 90 days and then pruned automatically; they are not deleted early by an account deletion.
  • Usage counters on our AI server. Message and image counts kept for capacity planning are not removed by the deletion. They are numbers only — no content, no name, no email address — and they are keyed to an account identifier which, once your account is deleted, no longer resolves to anyone. Copies in our backups age out on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Your unsubscribe request. If you had asked us not to send marketing email, the address stays on our suppression list so the request keeps being honoured after the account is gone.
  • Backups. The deletion runs immediately in our live database; copies inside our database provider's encrypted backups roll off on their own within the 90 days the Privacy Policy allows, and are never restored to bring an account back.

None of this residual data is used to identify or contact you.
