It works on its own once you ask, without stopping for approval at each step — start it with --ask if you’d rather approve every change. It always asks before a recursive delete or a registry change; deleting individual files does not ask.
Fix PC problems
Describe what’s wrong in your own words. Vincoder runs the checks, explains what it finds, and fixes what it can — trying to keep a copy of each file up to 8 MB that it edits with its own editing tools, so you can undo recent edits. Larger files, and changes made by commands it runs, are not backed up.
Tune your PC for games
Tell it which game feels laggy. It looks at what’s loading in the background, your power plan and startup apps, and cleans up what it can.
Spot scams
Paste the text of a suspicious email or message and Vincoder gives you its read. It works from the text you paste, so it needs no access to your mailbox. Its read is an opinion from an AI, not a security verdict — check anything that matters before you act on it.
Tame your files & photos
Point it at a messy folder and tell it the rule: by year, by month, by file type, or by name. It sorts and renames the files and shows each step, so you can see where everything went. It goes by dates and file names. It cannot see what is in a picture, so it will not sort photos by who or what is in them. Try it on a copy of the folder first, or start it with --ask to approve its steps yourself.
Clean up & speed up
Ask it to find what’s eating disk space or slowing startup. It shows you what it finds — sizes and all — and clears out the junk.

We don’t meter, and we’re not going to.
Most tools count your questions, because every question costs them money. Vincoder runs the model on your own PC, so yours cost us nothing — and we’re not going to invent a meter just because everyone else has one. We don’t charge by usage, and we have no plans to. If that ever changes, it will be announced in advance and will not apply to your current billing period. The price may change one day. Charging you by the question will not.

What early access means
- Vincoder is updated often, and features can still change. Some updates may be required for it to keep working.
- The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows shows a warning the first time you run it. The note under the download button explains how to check the file is ours.
- So far it has been tuned and tested on one developer PC. Other graphics cards, and PCs without one, are supported, but we have checked them only by simulating them on that PC.
- Early access does not change your trial, cancellation or refund rights: see our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
The download is free — using Vincoder requires a Vincdata account with an active trial or subscription.
- Download and run the installer — it installs without admin; on an administrator Windows account the app asks for elevation (UAC) each time it starts so it can work on the whole PC, and on a standard account it runs without admin.
- Sign in with your Vincdata account and start your free trial. No card needed.
- Unless you choose otherwise on the setup page that asks when to get the model, Setup downloads the AI model for your PC while Vincoder installs. That’s about 3 GB on a PC without a graphics card and up to about 21 GB for the full model on a 16 GB card. After that, you just tell it what you need done on your PC.
System requirements
- Windows 11 or Windows 10 (64-bit). So far tested on Windows 11 only.
- A graphics card with 16 GB or more runs the full model, which also uses about 13 GB or more of your PC’s memory (RAM); smaller cards with 8 GB or more run a lighter model; no graphics card: the smallest model runs on your processor (slower). Vincoder picks one automatically.
- Up to 25 GB of free disk space (less for the lighter models).
- Internet connection for sign-in, the model download, and a quick licence check each time it starts.
The installer is not code-signed yet — Windows SmartScreen will warn you the first time you run it; choose More info → Run anyway. Because it is not code-signed, the SHA-256 is how you check the file is ours: e18bb2444f50ba0143f285f982f07ac9c9264c0686940181517933588c687503
To check it, open PowerShell in the folder you downloaded it to and run Get-FileHash .\VincoderSetup-1.64.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256; the Hash it prints should match.

Your own PC does the work, so asking more costs us nothing and costs you nothing. No message counter, no weekly allowance, no slowdown when you’ve used it a lot. The price is the price.
The AI runs on your hardware
The model lives on your PC, so your questions are answered locally, at your PC’s speed, with no per-question limits. Vincoder does need to reach Vincdata briefly when it starts, to check your sign-in and licence.

Frequently asked questions
Q.Do I need to be good with computers?
You don’t need to know programming. You ask in plain words, like “my game is lagging” or “my PC is slow”. Vincoder works on its own and can change files and settings, so read the risk screen before you start, and start it with --ask if you want to approve each change first.
Q.Is my personal stuff sent to the internet?
The AI itself runs on your own PC. Network use: sign-in and subscription checks (Supabase, our authentication provider, and our own server); a daily update check, and the download when a new version is available (signed, checked and installed automatically by default; you can turn this off in settings); an optional usage count — three fields, a random install id, a number of tokens and the app version, sent at start, about once a day, after replies, at sign-out and on exit (it is sent with your Vincdata sign-in, so the count is linked to your account; it is not anonymous) — and a first-start flag on the subscription check that adds one to an anonymous daily install count; you can turn the usage count off in settings, and the first-start flag is then not sent either; the model download, from Hugging Face (another one if you switch models with /model); and on PCs with AMD or Intel graphics, a download of the graphics engine, about 33 MB, from GitHub. Everything else runs locally on your machine. Vincoder itself never sends your chats, code or files to us or anyone else. But it works by running commands on your PC, and some commands can use the internet, for example to download something or look something up. It asks you first when it recognises a command that downloads a program, uploads a file or submits a form; it recognises them by pattern, so some, such as git push or a package install, run without asking. Other commands, such as simply opening a web address, can run without asking. If you want to see and approve every command, start it with --ask.
Q.Can it break my PC?
Vincoder refuses a short list of catastrophic commands — for example shutting down or restarting the PC, formatting or wiping a disk. Commands in its always-ask tiers — for example recursive deletes, process kills, encoded or dynamically generated commands, registry writes — always ask you first, on every path, and if nobody is there to answer, Vincoder refuses them. Routine commands run without prompting by default; start with --ask to approve each one. These checks match command patterns and apply to the commands Vincoder runs directly, so they do not catch everything. Back up anything you can’t afford to lose.
Q.What kind of PC do I need?
A Windows PC. A gaming graphics card makes Vincoder fastest, but lighter editions run on regular laptops and PCs without a graphics card — Vincoder picks one automatically. By default, Setup downloads the AI model while it installs.
Will my PC run it?
Vincoder checks your PC when it starts and picks a model for it. You don’t have to set anything.
- Big graphics card (about 16 GB): Yes. You get the full model, which also uses about 13 GB or more of your PC’s memory (RAM).
- Smaller graphics card (8 GB or more): Yes. You get a lighter model.
- Graphics card under 8 GB: Maybe. The lighter model may not fit on the card, and Vincoder can then fail to start.
- No graphics card: Yes. The smallest model runs on your processor. It works, just slower.
How fast it feels depends on your own PC. A bigger graphics card gets a bigger, more capable model.
Q.How do I start it with --ask?
Run Vincoder from a command line with --ask added. The Start-menu and desktop shortcuts start it without --ask, and there is no setting for it.

You don’t need an administrator window: on an administrator account Vincoder shows the usual Windows prompt itself, and it keeps --ask. It lasts for that launch only; the next normal start runs without it. You can tell it is on because the red “permissions skipped” line is missing from the start-up banner.
Already running? Type /skip to switch approvals on or off for the rest of that session.
Q.Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts or commitments. If you subscribe, you can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of your billing period. A trial without a card needs no cancelling — it ends on its own. Cancel from your dashboard.
Q.Is there a free trial?
Yes — 7 days, full access, and starting the trial doesn’t require a card. If you do nothing, the trial ends on its own and nothing is charged. If you subscribe during the trial, your first payment is taken when the trial ends.
Q.Why does Windows warn me when I install Vincoder?
Vincoder is new software still building its reputation, so Windows SmartScreen and some antivirus tools may flag the installer as unknown. Choose "More info → Run anyway". You can verify any download against the SHA-256 checksum shown in the download section above.
